PTO

About US

The Parent Teacher Organization's mission is to support our students, teachers, staff and parents. If you have a child at Sacred Heart – you are a member of the PTO! Whether you can spare one hour reading to kids, or send in some juice or a casserole for a teacher breakfast, there is a place for you in the PTO.

The three primary functions of the PTO are:

  • To promote understanding and cooperation between home and school by providing assistance to the Principal and teachers in any capacity needed. This results in many volunteer activities, such as room parents, library helpers, office helpers, Field Day volunteers, and many others.
  • To create an enjoyable environment for our children, where they feel safe and happy. We strive to enhance the school experience at Sacred Heart for students, teachers and parents. We develop, support and sponsor programs and activities that nurture a quality Catholic education and a thriving school community.
  • To raise PTO funds that directly benefit the school. Each and every year, we use our fundraising dollars to support the school, the teachers and the students. Our biggest fundraiser of the year is our Mardi Gras Ball [https://shcards.org/mardis-gras-ball]. The Mardi Gras Ball was postponed for 2021 due to COVID restrictions.  We also solicit donations through the Century Club, where you have a chance to win back your $100 donation in a drawing each month.
  • Meetings are held monthly and all parents are welcome. Our PTO meetings are scheduled for one Friday each month in the Conference Room. Please check the Main School Calendar for specific dates.

You can also help the PTO raise funds through some of your everyday purchases at local stores and through clipping labels/box tops. Box Tops for Education has an app that you can download for free to help the school. Please search for our school through the zip code 36205.

For more information or any questions, you can email pto@shcards.org or contact one of our officers.
